Eating and Shopping in the area

Broadford is located 5 miles from the Skye Bridge. There are plenty of local restaurants and shops within walking distance, here are a few ideas.

Food and drink:-

Right next door is the award winning Coffee Bothy - serving light lunches, soups and delicious home made cakes and treats.

Within 100m is the Dela Gasta Pizzeria

The Sprig - You can see it from the house. Using local produce, this is definitely a place for a real treat meal and to sample their range of whiskies and cocktails.

The Claymore - another short walk, during the day The Shellfish Shack is open for freshly caught local produce.  During the evenings the restaurant is mainly seafood based.  They don't take bookings, but you can turn up and wait for a table whilst having a drink on the veranda.

The Harbour Restaurant - Just into the village another restaurant who sources produce from the Isle or Scotland.  Recommend to book during the season.

The Broadford Hotel and Gabbro Bar - The main hotel restaurant has a different menu from the more classic pub grub of the bar behind.  This is a lovely locals pub, and chatting with tourists is the norm. Also a pool table and darts board.

The Dunollie Hotel - Simple pub grub located in the centre of the village.

Shopping:-

Arts and crafts are to be found all over the island.

Within Broadford we have the Love from Skye jewellery shop, where Paul makes items from the workshop out the back.  They also stock a lot of other Scottish and Island jewellery in the shop.

The Market Sqare - right next to co-op there is a little collection of cabins with antiques, and produce from the Isle's artists and makers.  Definitely a place to pop in for some gifts to take home.

Busy Vee's on the corner by the Broadford hotel, is the place to purchase the Skye Fairies and other handcrafted items.

Co-op is the main food supermarket on the whole of Skye.  It is possible to order online shopping as well.  Asda will deliver to the door, whilst Morrisons and Tesco have services where they will stop in a central place and you collect from there.

There is a local butcher in the Kyle of Lochalsh, this is where we can source prepared BBQ packs from if you want the convenience of it being in the fridge when you arrive.

I could tell you what I enjoy about the Isle of Skye, but instead, click this button to the official website,

I am fan of the Skye for All site, where restricted mobility is considered by the ladies who created it.
